Dr. Sarit K. Chaudhuri is currently working as professor and head of the department of Anthropology, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, India. Earlier he has worked in Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies (AITS), RGU and Anthropological Survey of India, Shillong. He was awarded a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), UK while working for a five-year collaborative project with the British Museum, SOAS, CCRD and RGU. As the director of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), Bhopal, he tried to take forward the wave of new museum movement to India's Northeast. His prime research engagements are with the issues concerning Indigenous religion, art, identity, cultural heritage, dynamics of India's Northeastern borderlands and ethnographic museums.
